Dropbox is used for syncing your Book Keeper company data among your devices (mobile, desktop, tablet etc.)
Recently, Dropbox has limited the number of devices to three for Basic users. Refer to this link for more details. This means that you will be able to login in the Dropbox app/software on three devices only.
This limitation by Dropbox has partial impact on how Book Keeper syncs your company data.
Now, you will be able to use maximum 3 desktop, PC or laptop for syncing. The good news is that there is no limit on number of mobile devices.
Here are the steps that you need to follow:
1. For syncing on desktop, download Dropbox software and login with your Dropbox email and password.
2. For syncing on mobile, no need to install Dropbox app from Play Store/App Store. When you tap on 'Link Dropbox', it will open Dropbox website in browser (as given below). You have to sign in there and it will get linked with Book Keeper.
This means that the Dropbox limit for three devices is for desktop only.
For existing users who have reached three device limit, when you login in Dropbox on a new device, it will show a popup for 'Unlink Devices' like below:
You can unlink mobile devices, it will not have any impact on syncing of company data.
To conclude, you can setup sync on maximum 3 desktop, PC or laptop & unlimited mobile devices. If you are using on more than 3 desktop, PC or laptop, then you need to upgrade your Dropbox plan to Plus/Professional/Business.
