What is UPI: Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a system that powers multiple bank accounts into a single mobile application (of any participating bank), merging several banking features, seamless fund routing & merchant payments into one hood. It allows transfer of money from one bank account to another instantly via one's mobile phone. Payments can be made via app on mobile device only. The money transfer via UPI works on 24x7 basis.
You basically need either your UPI id or Account number or IFSC code.
If you use any application like Google Pay, Phone Pe, Paytm or BHIM UPI or any other bank application, you can get your UPI id by going to either Profile section or Settings or Bank Account > UPI details. Sample screenshots are given below.
If you are not using any UPI app, just check your Bank passbook or cheque book, it will have your account number and IFSC Code.
